Energy efficient – AIRA® Retractable Screens can reduce unwanted sunlight and solar gain through windows, glass walls and openings without blocking views – virtually disappearing when not in use.

Non-toxic – AIRA® retractable screens aluminum extrusions are powder-coated. There are no solvents, fumes or volatile organic compounds (VOC’s) involved in this process. The powder is non-toxic and 99% of overspray and unused powder can be collected and recycled.

LEED (Leadership in Energy Efficient Design)Use of AIRA® retractable screens add LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) points – The U.S. Green Building Council does not provide LEED certification for specific products, only for overall projects. However, the use of AIRA® Retractable Screens can add significantly to the LEED points of a project under the U.S. Green Building Council LEED guidelines:

  • INCREASED VENTILATION: The proper use of AIRA® Retractable Screens can reduce or eliminate the need for air conditioning during warm days, allowing for the specification of opening windows in the building’s design to increase natural air ventilation.
  • INDOOR AIR QUALITY: All of Eclipse Technologies aluminum extrusions are powder-coated. There are no solvents, fumes or volatile organic compounds (VOC’s) involved in this process. The powder is non-toxic and 99% of overspray and unused powder can be collected and recycled.
  • DAYLIGHT AND VIEWS: Eclipse’s complete product line by design can be extended to block unwanted sunlight and solar gain through windows, glass walls and openings without blocking views and allowing a higher ratio of glass to opaque building materials in projects without creating inherent light and cooling management problems.
  • INNOVATIONS IN DESIGN: Exceptional performance where the LEED credit requirements have been exceeded substantially can earn ID Credits.
